Stock very low again

Even though we ordered much more than we needed, the Xmas rush had cleared out our emergency stock. We are pretty much out of everything except Butt Rub and Malt Salt again now. New stock is due in again in a few weeks as soon as it arrives from the US.

Tuesday, 18 December 2012

Everything is now back in stock apart from Applewood. Everything that was outstanding is now gone and should arrive in time for Xmas.

All orders that don't contain Applewood will be going out promptly as usual - this is typically within 24 hours of receiving payment. We have low supplies of Original, Peppered and Cheddar but still have enough to be sending these out for the next few days. As ever, check out our Stock page for the latest situation.

Orders going out

Our express shipments are trickling in from the US and we've been furiously packing all day to get orders out. If you have an outstanding order you should receive it later this week. Enjoy!

Good shipment update!

The latest tracking information shows that we should get our express shipments of Bacon Salt by this coming Monday. We will be working throughout the day and night once it arrives to get the outstanding orders out as quickly as possible. Thanks for your patience!

Shipping update

In light of the stock situation, we wanted to give you a completely transparent update about what's been happening.

We have spoken at length to J&D's and the US shipping company over the last few days. The upshot is that out outstanding orders have gone completely missing and we have no idea when they should arrive. As this is completely unacceptable, we have made some smaller "emergency" orders that have now been sent by priority courier. They should now be with us in 3-5 days so hopefully most if not all of the outstanding orders will be able to be dispatched by next Monday.

Once again, we're really sorry about the inconvenience. This has been really frustrating for us and is completely out of our control.

Bad news

There's a Bacon Salt shortage! We spoke at length on the phone to J&D's last night and it turns out that our last two container-loads have gone missing somewhere in the shipping system between Seattle and the UK. We ordered these ages and ages ago and we're desperately trying to work out what's gone happened on both sides of the Atlantic. However, at the moment it's looking like we won't have stock in time to send out by Royal Mail's last posting date for Xmas.

We're completely gutted about this as we were told that we would have received more than enough stock over the weekend and it's only emerged now that the shipments are completely lost. We know there's nothing we can do to make it up to you guys but for the time being, please bear with us. Unfortunately there will be a delay on all orders being sent out due to this. We're really sorry :(

Tracking update

Good news! The tracking information for our new stock indicates it should arrive with us early next week. So we will be fully stocked again with all flavours by then. We expect to begin shipping out all outstanding orders by Tuesday.

Stock update

Unfortunately, shipments that were due to arrive have been delayed in the Xmas rush. These shipments were supposed to make up our stock during before Xmas but they will no longer arrive in time. As such, we are out of stock for Cheddar, Original, Jalapeno, Malt and Natural. We have very limited stocks of Hickory, Applewood and Maple but good supplies of Peppered.

We know how frustrating this is especially before Xmas. We are very sorry but if you need your orders urgently, please consider ordering Peppered flavour (it's one of our favourites). Otherwise, all orders for other flavours will be sent on a first-come-first-served basis as soon as we get our restock in.

Stock issues

We received our shipment of Cheddar and Original this week. Unfortunately due to the backlog of orders, we sold out instantly again! We've spent the last 24 hours desperately packaging outstanding orders and they will be going out this week. 99% of orders have been fulfilled and dispatched. However, as J&D's forgot to send us some of the flavours we ordered, there are still some packages waiting for new stock before we can send them out. More containers of delicious Bacon Salt are on their way from Seattle.

Unfortunately, as the rush is showing no sign of halting any time soon, we're now currently out of Original, Cheddar and Malt Salt for new orders. If you need your Bacon Salt urgently, please consider swapping to other flavours instead. Sorry again for the inconvenience - we promise it will be worth it when it finally arrives!

Good news and bad news

We have mixed news for you on the stock situation. The good news is that our containers of Original and Cheddar have finally tracked into the UK and we expect them to arrive with us any day now. We will of course ship everything as soon as we possibly can once we get hold of the Bacon Salt.

Unfortunately, the bad news is that we've just run out of Malt Salt. So any orders containing jars of Malt Salt will have to be delayed until our new shipment arrives. As ever, you can always exchange for a jar of any other flavour free of charge.

Thanks for your patience.

Cheddar stuck in customs

The Christmas rush has well and truly started. We thought we were fully prepared but unfortunately our container-load of Cheddar flavour for restocking has been caught up in customs. Orders containing Cheddar will be delayed while we wait for it to clear. Our supply of Original flavour still hasn't arrived either but the good news is that it's due to be with us later this week.

Please be aware that these two flavours of Bacon Salt can't be shipped out same day at present. However, we will get them all out at once as soon as they arrive at our warehouse. You can always check our current stock levels on our site. Thanks for your patience :)

Happy Thanksgiving Baconlovers

Seeing as the holy Bacon Salt is a US invention, it only seems appropriate to celebrate Thanksgiving here at Bacon Salt UK. All the more so because Bacon Salt can make one of the tastiest holidays even more delicious.

We're not going to offer any full-blown Thanksgiving Bacon Salt recipes - just give some rough ideas and encourage you to use your imagination. After all, there are very few dishes that don't benefit from some additional bacony action.

First of all, why not add some Bacon Salt to your mashed potato? Or your sprouts or bean casserole? Who can deny it will make stuffing for the turkey infinitely better? Or a side or mac and cheese. And for the non meat-eaters - don't forget that all flavours of Bacon Salt are vegetarian! Your tofurky will taste a lot better with a Bacon Salt glaze, that's for sure!

To make this Thanksgiving even tastier for all Bacon Salt lovers, we're offering a £1 discount on all orders of four jars received today. So you can get any four flavours of your choice for just £9.49 instead of £10.49! Just email us to claim your discount :)

Original out of stock

One of our shipping crates from J&D's has completely dropped off the radar and nobody from the shipping company has been able to locate it since. We've had to reorder again and, as a result, orders containing Original flavour may take up to a week to be dispatched. All other orders will still go out the same day if ordered before 12pm. Sorry for any inconvenience.

New product: Butt Rub

We're incredibly proud to introduce a delicious new product: Bad Byron's Butt Rub. This legendary meat rub has been making waves in the States for over 14 years now and is a staple on the competitive BBQ circuit. We're certain it's going to make it big in the UK too. While not strictly a bacon product, it's very piggy and fits in great in a spice rack next to Bacon Salt.

If you're interested, look out for our great value multipacks - it gets much cheaper the more you buy.

Friday, 14 September 2012

Original out of stock

Unfortunately our latest shipment from the States has been delayed and we have run out of Original flavour. In the meantime we can exchange it for any other flavour otherwise we will resume sending orders out as soon as we get new stock. Thank you for your patience.

Postal prices

It's that time of yeah again - the Royal Mail have put up the postal prices once again. And this time they've seen fit to remove all the options below 750g for small packets which means you have to pay a minimum of £2.20 to send anything up to 6 jars of Bacon Salt. Before we could give better prices for single jars but now it's not really financially viable to buy single jars.

We've done our best to absorb the increases for you - we haven't raised any prices and will never charge you more than £1.99 for P&P (much less than it costs us). But the end result is it's now much more expensive to buy single jars. To soften the blow, we decreased the prices of the multipacks as it's now much better value to go for these instead of single jars.  As ever, please just email us with your order and we'll get right back to you :)
